Sahitya
The department was started in 1936 with the beginning of Kavya course. As the institution transformed to a degree college there was Sahitya BA. Later PG course was also introduced. Now there is 13 BA seats in the first year and five seats in MA levels. As in the case of other departments, the admission is done through CAP of MGU. Dr. V.P Udayakumar of the department has Guidance ship under the MG University. Dr. S. Anikumar of the department is a member of Board of Studies for Sanskrit in MGU. Dr. K.G Paulose the former HOD of the department became the registrar of Sree Sankarachary University of Sanskrit and later the Vice Chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam (Deemed University)
