Government Sanskrit College Tripunithura with a live history of 106 years is accredited by National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation with A grade in 2017. It has fully fledged five departments of different branches of Sanskrit -Jyotisha, Nyaya, Sahitya, Vedanta and Vyakarana. In this approved research center under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, more than 75% of the teachers are PhD holders. The appointment of teachers and admission of students are done in the basis of constitutionally defined merit. There are many meritorious students to our credit. Renowned Malayalam writer Sri. N.V Krishna Warrier, former minister Sri. T.K Ramakrishnan, former Vice Chancellor Dr. K.G Paulose,  Renowned Sanskrit scholar Prof. T. Aryadevi, famous radio artist Smt. T.H Lalitha are some among them. Eminent Sanskrit scholar and President award winner Dr. G Gangadharan Nair was our former faculty member. We have a treasure house of Manuscript library which is a unique feature among the Government colleges of Kerala. Many books came to light from our Manuscript library and even scholars from abroad are making use of it. Now we are utilizing many programs of Ministry of Human Resource Development and Government of Kerala to spread Sanskrit among the public. We are very happy to see that hundreds of people are utilizing our Sanskrit, Yoga and Jyotisha classes which are conducted for the public. At present the construction of new academic block and ladies hostel is in progress with the financial assistance of Government of Kerala. Rashtriya Uchathar Siksha Abhiyan has sanctioned an maount of Rupees Two crores for the infrastructural  development of the institution.
